A simple way to position yourself at the top of search results on LinkedIn (part 1 of 2)

A simple way to position yourself at the top of search results on LinkedIn (part 1 of 2)

All you have to do is complete your profile. That's it.

The LinkedIn search algorithm seeks and displays results in this order:

  1. Profile completeness (100% only)

  2. Connections in common

  3. Connections by degrees of separation (1st, 2nd, 3rd)

  4. Groups in common

The profile strength scale is: Beginner -> Intermediate -> Advanced -> Expert -> All Star

Make sure your profile is complete and be an All Star. You are on LinkedIn to make money, right? Make it easy for your target audience to find you by completing your profile and the LinkedIn search algorithm will reward you by putting you at the top of the search results.

Of course, you also need to have a robust profile that contains the search terms that your target audience is using. I'll cover best practices for keywording in a later post.
